We focus on critical issues related to women’s health and wellness like talks on cervical cancer awareness and prevention. We also organise talks on breast cancer, menstrual hygiene and management for young girls. Another key focus for children is oragnising eye screening camps in schools and provision of low vision aids and assistive devices for the needy.

Cervical cancer awareness talks and prevention drives

Cervical cancer ranks as the second most cancer among women in the age group of 14-44 years. India accounts for about 1,22,844 cervical cancer cases every year and accounts for one-third of global cancer deaths. Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable and treatable forms of cancer with early detection. There are effective screening methods to detect development of cancer in the future.

We organise cervical cancer awareness talks and screening camps to spread awareness about the disease, causes, risk factors and preventive measures for young girls and women in educational institutions, corporate and communities. The screening camps are conducted by a team of expert doctors to facilitate early detection and seek treatment if required.

Breast cancer awareness talks

Breast cancer is the most prevalent forms of cancer. Women above 40 years fall in the common risk category of this cancer. Like in any type of cancers, awareness, prevention and early detection form the key. We organise breast cancer awareness talks in residential associations, women groups, colleges and communities about Breast cancer, causes, risk factors and impact.

The month of October is observed as the ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Month’ and we at Adrith Foundation pledge our support to the cause.

Eye screening camps in schools

We organise eye screening camps in schools to facilitate early detection and management of vision impairment in children. We provide needy students with low vision aids and assistive devices post screening.

Menstrual Hygiene for Girls

This session focuses on holistic approach to menstrual health management by promoting hygienic practices during periods, dispelling common myths around menstruation among women and girls Sanitary napkins/menstrual cups will be provided in the schools for adolescent girls after a talk on menstrual health. Menstruation is still a taboo in India and people across society feel uncomfortable speaking about this. Lack of toilets in schools/ households/public places, access to sanitary pads, safe disposal add to the problems. Mothers often feel reluctant to talk about this and answer specific queries about periods.
